Olive Leaf Tea

Apologies to regular readers.  But, if you do not want to witness any more shameless self promotion, look away now…

Right, since we live in the middle of Olive Country and provide ourselves with olive oil and table olives it seemed apt we would have an olive based site.  Called All That’s Olive, the site had been rather neglected but we’ve done a little work on it lately.  The idea was to sell raw olives.  Which we have managed to do, to some extent.  Though the high cost of shipping and the short season is a issue.

Years ago we heard a little about the health giving properties of olive leaves and olive leaf extract (thanks Family Gnash) but thought little more of it.  Since Christmas though I’ve been having cups of Olive Leaf Tea and I must say its rather tasty.  There are lots of studies looking into how olive leaves may be beneficial to our health and maybe rather better for us than Green Tea (which I don’t like anyway, so that’s good) so I’ve been upping my intake.  I feel good but have no idea if its related to Olive Leaf Benefits or not.

However, in the manner of trying to live sustainably from our land it seemed apt that we should share our olive leaf tea and maybe make a few pennies besides.  So if you or your friends are in the market for some Health Boosting Olive Leaf Tea come be our first customer!

That’s really interesting – I didn’t know olive leaves could be used for teas. There must be a lot of people in the UK who have an ‘ornamental’ olive tree that they could be harvesting!

  2. Yes I’d never heard of it till we came here.

If anyone does have their own tree, just remove some leaves (we do it as we prune so it doesn’t affect the tree at all). Leave them to dry and then steep in hot water for 5 mins.

    Easy!

How timely I’ve only just heard about the benefits of olive leaves – the perfect weapon against viruses. We’re pruning too now, so I know what to do. Thanks CG.
